Activations
Growing Pains aims to establish collaborations with the educational departments of museums and libraries in the Netherlands and abroad as well as to reach audiences outside of the traditional photography- and art world. In both instances, the idea is to design and facilitate frameworks for books’ and works’ activations for general audiences and children.
On 21 May 2023, we organised our first activation event.
Ola Lanko, designed and led a journey into the world of emotions based on her work Istopia. Using images and stories from her project, she introduces a group of 10-12 year olds to the world where feelings have characters.
The workshop was organised by Growing Pains in collaboration with Bureau Postjesweg. It was made possible with the support of the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts.
